Statement from the Clerk and Receiver of Eastbridge Hospital
Thank you for taking the time to visit our site.
Unfortunately we continue to be closed to public visitors due to urgent repairs required.
The Upper Chapel work is complete, however the Undercroft now needs urgent structural repairs to make good and safe, this will further delay the re-opening. Eastbridge will be closed for at least another year. As soon as we have any news, we will let you know.
As you can imagine the cost of restoration and specialist historic building repair is extremely expensive and our costs so far have reached almost £500,000, with an additional £250,000 required for the ongoing repairs to the interior and exterior river wall. The cost of these considerable repairs has been a huge financial strain on our charity and we are seeking grants and donations wherever possible to help us continue with this necessary work.
